The Venue is one of the newest additions to the Hyundai SUV lineup, arriving on the market in 2019. Of course, only a single generation has been released in such a short time.

Despite this, it did receive a facelift in 2022. This first came to the Indian market and then to others like North America.

There are also essentially two different versions of the Venue. These are the QX and QXi, which are the Korean and Indian versions respectively.

The Korean carmaker offers the Venue in just three trim levels. These include the SE, SEL, and Limited.

These are changed to the E, S, SX, SX+, and SX(O) for the Indian market.

The various trims have gone up against other hugely popular models in an already competitive class. These include the Kia Soul, Volkswagen Taos, and the excellent Mazda CX-30. It also faces rivalry from Hyundai’s own Kona.

The Venue has been offered with a number of both petrol and diesel powertrains. Of course, these have been mainly petrol. Diesel options consist of the choice of either a 1.4 L inline-4 or a 1.5 L inline-4. However, only the 1.5 L option has been offered since 2020.

The petrol offerings range from a 1.0 L inline-3 through to two 1.6 L inline-4s. These larger engines are either a Gamma II or a Smartstream.

Transmissions have included various 6-speed gearboxes, including manual, clutchless manual, and automatic. There has also been a 5-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch, and a CVT option.
