Initially, this pickup truck was called the Dodge Ram and was intended as a replacement for the D Series.
In 2013 the line was spun-off into its own brand along with the Dodge Viper – this model was now known as the Ram Pickup.
That “Ram” brand name has then been used to encapsulate the commercial vehicles sold by Dodge while the main brand continues on with normal cars.
The Ram Pickup has gone through the decades and generations winning masses of fans thanks to its customization options and value for money.
It has always been offered with a wide range of engines too as well as the ability to fit a manual or automatic transmission.
This was the case up until the most recent version (the fifth generation that launched in 2019) where the manual transmission option was retired outside of Mexico.
The fifth-generation Dodge Ram was also used as a basis for the revamped Jeep Wagoneer (and Grand Wagoneer) SUV lines in 2021.
This new version of the pickup truck used smarter materials that allowed the overall weight of it to be less than the previous generation while being able to tow more.
For 2021 the Ram Pickup range also gained several new features during a facelift including a reverse-steering system to help drivers back up.
